Four Strategic
Pillars of Impact

Our Work

Our work is anchored in four interconnected pillars. Together, they create a complete ecosystem of teacher empowerment, youth development, wellness, and identity-affirming leadership.
01

Teacher Recruitment,
Empowerment & Certification

Teacher Recruitment,
Empowerment & Certification

Empowering Teachers.
Transforming Classrooms.

The Challenge

BC will need nearly 20,000 new teachers by 2033.  Many classrooms are already unstable, and aspiring educators, particularly newcomers and career changers, face barriers in certification, mentorship, and support.

Why it Matters

Teachers who feel supported and empowered inspire students beyond academics. A teacher who reflects a child’s identity can ignite belonging, confidence, and leadership.

Our Response

InspirED BC is building avalues-aligned teacher recruitment and empowerment pipeline in British Columbia. We:

  • Guide aspiring educators through certification pathways.
  • Pair them with mentors for professional and spiritual growth.
  • Subsidise licensing, relocation, and housing costs.
  • Place teachers in schools where they are most needed.
  • Empower educators through leadership training and peer networks.

Long Term Vision

By 2030, this pipeline will not only stabilize classrooms but also staff and lead BC’s first Muslim secondary school, becoming a model for teacher empowerment across Canada.
02

Youth and Family Leadership Programs

Youth and Family Leadership Programs

Building Leaders,
Strengthening Families.

The Challenge

Many Muslim youth in BC grow up without role models or programs that affirm their faith and identity. Parents are searching for safe, inspiring spaces that combine academic success with identity-affirming education and character development.

Why it Matters

When youth belong, they flourish academically, emotionally, and spiritually. When parents are partners, families grow stronger, and communities thrive.

Our Response

InspirED BC co-designs youth leadership programs and family supports with parents, educators, and young people themselves. We:

  • Run afterschool and weekend programs on character, identity, and leadership.
  • Host summer intensives and youth leadership conferences.
  • Create mentorship opportunities connecting youth with inspiring role models.
  • Engage parents directly in workshops and consultations.

Long Term Vision

By 2030, this pipeline will not only stabilize classrooms but also staff and lead BC’s first Muslim secondary school, becoming a model for teacher empowerment across Canada.
03

Mental Health & Wellness

Mental Health & Wellness

Breaking Stigma.
Building Resilience.

The Challenge

One in five Canadian youth faces a mental health challenge each year. Muslim youth are especially vulnerable due to stigma, Islamophobia, and lack of culturally aligned services. Families are left struggling to access supports they can trust.

Why it Matters

When youth know where to turn, they grow stronger. When families trust supports, they seek help early. When stigma is erased, communities flourish.

Our Response

InspirED BC is creating faith-informed, culturally relevant mental health supports for Muslim youth and families. We:

  • Convene Muslim clinicians and community wellness advocates.
  • Map existing services into a trusted mental health resource directory.
  • Build referral systems that schools and families can rely on.
  • Host stigma-breaking workshops to normalise mental wellness.

Long Term Vision

A culture where wellness is integrated into education, stigma is replaced with resilience, and families find strength in both faith and professional care.
04

Convening & Narrative Building

Convening & Narrative Building

Amplifying Voices.
Shaping Belonging.

The Challenge

Muslim educators, youth, and families are underrepresented in leadership and public discourse. Without platforms, their contributions remain unseen, limiting recognition and policy influence.

Why it Matters

Stories shape belonging. When Muslim voices are celebrated, youth see themselves reflected, communities feel valued, and policymakers listen.

Our Response

InspirED BC is amplifying voices and changing narratives. We:

  • Host convenings that bring together educators, families, and institutions.
  • Publish stories of Muslim teachers and youth thriving in education and leadership.
  • Launch advocacy campaigns that promote equity and inspire systemic change.

Long Term Vision

A British Columbia where Muslim contributions in education and leadership are visible, respected, and celebrated, strengthening cohesion for all.
